Sync leads between an AppDirect marketplace and Salesforce

With the help of webhooks, you can automatically sync AppDirect marketplace leads with Salesforce. You can also convert a lead that creates a company on the platform and will push the same company information to Salesforce. Any status change (for example, disqualifying a lead) will automatically get pushed to Salesforce.

Prerequisite

Ensure that the webhook for creating, updating, and deleting leads has been configured on the marketplace.

Sync leads between an AppDirect marketplace and Salesforce

  1. Create a lead and verify that there is an entry in Salesforce. For more information, see Manually create leads.
  2. Modify the lead and verify that Salesforce has the updated details. For more information, see View and manage leads.
  3. Convert the lead and verify that Salesforce has the updated status. For more information, see Convert leads to customers.
  4. Create a lead again and disqualify it. Verify that Salesforce has the disqualify status. Also, ensure that the company for that user does not get created. For more information, see Disqualify leads as a Marketplace Manager.

Limitations

While AppDirect enables you to add products to a lead, you cannot add products directly to a lead in Salesforce. Instead, you can add products to an opportunity in Salesforce.

Furthermore, while AppDirect allows you to save a quote after converting a lead, Salesforce does not permit saving a quote on a lead. Instead, you can generate a quote from an opportunity in Salesforce.
