Recommendations for integrating your marketplace with the Microsoft Partner Center

Important: Microsoft Azure Global CSP integration has been deprecated. Deprecated features are only available to existing AppDirect customers who already use them. If you are a new customer, you cannot use this feature. For more information about deprecation, see Product lifecycle phases.

Marketplace Managers can configure their marketplaces to list and sell Microsoft products. They can authorize and reauthorize their marketplaces with the Microsoft Partner Center, without providing any Microsoft reseller account credentials to AppDirect.

To avoid configuration errors between your marketplace and your Microsoft Partner Center account, AppDirect recommends the following:

  • Create a dedicated CSP service account on the Microsoft Partner Center. See Create a CSP service account on the Microsoft Partner Center. Use that account to Integrate your marketplace with Microsoft.
  • Enable and enforce multi-factor authentication on your Microsoft 365 admin center account.
  • After the first integration, do not modify any settings or permissions on the dedicated CSP service account. If you change settings on this account, your refresh token is no longer valid and your marketplace cannot connect to the Microsoft Partner Center. Do not change the following settings: Username, password, email address, multi-factor authentication, and so on.
  • To prevent use of an existing Microsoft session for authorization, use an incognito window when you integrate your marketplace with the Microsoft Partner Center.
