Add custom field mapping between AppDirect and Salesforce

This topic describes how to map custom attributes in AppDirect to standard or custom fields on Salesforce Object Records.

Prerequisites

To create this mapping, you need the following three values:

  • Mapping API Name
  • AppDirect Custom Attribute Key
  • Salesforce Object field name

To find the Mapping API Name In Salesforce

  1. Click the gear icon and select Setup.
  2. Go to Platform Tools > Custom Code > Custom Metadata Types. The Custom Metadata Types page appears.
  3. Click Manage Records beside the Mapping API label.
  4. Copy the desired value or values from the Mapping API Name column to use later, depending on which Salesforce Object you want to use. This will be used for the Mapping API field when you are mapping the custom attributes.

To find the AppDirect Custom Attribute Key

  1. In AppDirect, go to Manage > Marketplace > Settings > Custom Attributes.
  2. If you need to create the Custom Attribute, click Add Attribute.
  3. Once the Custom Attribute is saved, or if it has already been created, copy the Key value to use later. This will be used for the Key field when mapping the custom attributes.

To find the Salesforce Object field name In Salesforce

  1. Click the gear icon and select Setup.
  2. Go to PLATFORM TOOLS> Objects and Fields > Object Manager. The Object Manager page appears.
  3. Click on the object in the Label column.
  4. Click Fields & Relationships.
  5. Copy the applicable value from the Field Name column. This will be used for the Salesforce Field when mapping the custom attributes.

  2. Click Custom Attributes
  3. Click New.
  4. Paste the values (Mapping API, Key, and Salesforce Field) collected from the early steps into the appropriate fields in the pop up window.
  5. Click Save.
