Configure User role permissions
Marketplace Managers can configure a variety of permissions for Users. Users in this context are users that have marketplace accounts, but have no explicitly assigned user role. These users are also known as end users or customers.
The following procedure includes all possible role settings. However, the Role permissions page only displays the settings that are relevant to your marketplace configuration.
To configure User role permissions
đź“ť Note: If the AppDirect logo appears in the upper-left corner of the page, when Manage > Marketplace appears in this topic, click the grid icon > Switch to | Store, instead.
- Go to Manage > Marketplace > Settings > Settings | Roles. The Role Permissions page opens.
- In the User pane, click the toggle to enable or disable the following permissions:
- Request retail price—After this setting is enabled, customers can request a discount for an order by clicking Request Custom Price on the Create Order page. The corresponding Set Retail Price permission must be enabled for either sales support representatives or resellers, or both, to set a price for the product. For more information, see Configure Sales Support role permissions and Configure Reseller role permissions for more information.
- Create quote—Customers can save an order as a quote during the purchase flow. Then, they can return to the order (at Account > Applications > Applications | Saved Orders) at any time and edit or complete the purchase. Sales support representatives and Resellers also can resume and edit the customer’s saved order. The Save Order option for a customer appears on the Create Order page during the purchase flow.
- Update subscription while having unpaid invoices—Customers can update subscriptions when they have unpaid invoices if the oldest unpaid invoice is within the grace period.
- Click Save Settings. The permissions are updated for all users assigned this user role.
