Edit customer groups
Marketplace Managers can edit customer groups to help prospective buyers identify the types of customers that can benefit from a product. Examples can include vertical groups, geographic groups, functional groups, and so on. If you associate a product with a customer group, the customer group appears in the details pane on the product profile page.
📝 Note: This feature is designed to identify to customers that a product might be of particular interest to them. It does not preclude any customer from purchasing the product. To target a product so that only users from companies within those segments can purchase that product, see Segments. You can also use other methods, including categories, attributes and product lines, to organize products so that customers can find the products that best fit their needs. Customer groups appear on each product's Edit marketplace settings page as a list of options that you can select. For more information, see Edit product marketplace settings.
To edit a customer group
📝 Note: If the AppDirect logo appears in the upper-left corner of the page, when Manage > Marketplace appears in this topic, click the grid icon > Switch to | Store, instead.
- Go to Manage > Marketplace > Products > Groups | Product Groups. The Product groups page opens.
- In the Customer groups pane, click the name of a group that you want to edit. The Edit Customer Group dialog opens.
- Do one of the following:
- Click Add Option to add a new sub-group, for example, Transportation. The option appears in a list. Options are sub-groups of the customer group. Add more options as needed.
- Delete an option (sub-group).
- Click Save. The customer group appears on the Products tab on every product's Marketplace settings page. You can optionally identify customer groups for any product. For more information, see Edit product marketplace settings.
