Configure the PDF attachment policy

đź“ť Note: If the AppDirect logo appears in the upper-left corner of the page, when Manage > Marketplace appears in this topic, click the grid icon > Switch to | Store, instead.

This topic is applicable to marketplaces for which the following features are enabled:

  • Enhanced invoice feature: When it is enabled, the Invoice Settings menu item appears at Manage > Marketplace > Settings.
  • Notifications v2. To determine if you have v2 notifications enabled on your marketplace, go to the Customer Notifications listing page at Manage > Marketplace > Settings > Custom UI | Customer Notifications. Click Filters, then select Advanced features. If v2 notifications are enabled on your marketplace, the table displays only advanced (v2) notifications and the v2 value is included in the Version for every notification listed.

If either feature is disabled, contact your AppDirect technical representative to request it.

Marketplace Managers can create customer notification templates that include a PDF attachment. Currently, only one notification type supports this new feature—the Invoice PDF Created notification. If you send the Invoice PDF Created invoice to customers, they can choose to view and download their invoice from a PDF attached to their email notification.

After the PDF attachments feature is enabled for your marketplace, you need to set a password policy that determines the type of password required when users open the attachment.

To set a password policy

  1. Go to Manage > Marketplace > Settings > Invoice Settings. The Invoice settings page opens.
  2. In the Invoice Templates pane, select a password policy from the following two options:
    • The user’s email address—The same address where the user received the notification. This is the default setting if you don’t explicitly set a policy.
    • The user’s name as it appears on their marketplace Profile page—The user must enter the name with no spaces. For example, if the name on their profile is Marco Ragusa, they need to enter MarcoRagusa. If their name is Roberta E. Lee, they must enter RobertaE.Lee (if a period appears in their name, it needs to be included). If the name includes a hyphen, it must be included.
  3. Click Save. The password policy setting is saved.
