Enable DUO authenticator

The Marketplace Manager (MM) users can now use DUO (a third party two factor authentication solution) as an alternative to the platform's native Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) mechanism.

The customers can bring their own DUO account and use it as a plug-in. This allows the customer to leverage DUO for their authentication needs and to continue having a familiar MFA experience.

📝 Note: DUO authentication is not available by default. The verification methods available depend on your marketplace settings. If you require DUO authentication for your marketplace, contact your AppDirect technical representative to discuss the options.

After AppDirect enables DUO for your marketplace, the marketplace managers can choose if a company must use native MFA or DUO for the companies within the marketplace.

Once the marketplace setting is enabled by the Marketplace Manager, Company Admins can configure and enforce DUO MFA for specific roles but cannot remove any of the enforced user types.

To enable DUO at marketplace level

  1. Go to Manage > Marketplace > Dashboard | Home > Companies. The Companies page opens.
  2. Click the row of the company for which you want to enable DUO. The selected company's details page opens and displays the Users tab by default.
  3. Click the Settings tab.
  4. Under Company Settings, in the Enable On-Device Sales Automation pane, select DUO as the Authentication type.
    📝 Note: After the authentication type is enabled for a company, a Company Administrator can configure and enforce DUO for specific roles.

To configure DUO at company level

  1. Go to Manage > Account > Company Settings | Company Settings > Account. The Company Settings page opens.
  2. Scroll down to the Two-Factor Authentication section and click Enable.
  3. Select the roles for which you want DUO to be mandatory.
  4. Click Save.
