Expanded quote statuses

πŸ“ Note: This documentation page may refer to Manage > Marketplace in navigation steps. If the Manage option is not available in your navigation, click the grid icon on the top-left corner of your header and click Marketplace.

The Opportunities feature is enabled when a New Lead or Purchase button appears in the upper-right corner of the page at Manage > Marketplace > Orders.

πŸ“ Note: This topic describes the expanded quote statuses, which are available for marketplaces where this feature is enabled. For information about the standard opportunity statuses (Open, Pending Review, and Closed), see Opportunities.

Quote statuses help agents understand where each quote (opportunity) is in the sales lifecycle. The status appears on both the quote listing and the quote detail page, and the platform updates it automatically as work progresses on the quote and its quote versions.

The following table lists the quote statuses and their meanings.

StatusMeaning
DraftNo quote versions exist.
OpenAt least one quote version is active.
Pending Customer ApprovalA quote version is awaiting customer action.
Pending Manager ReviewThe quote is submitted for manager approval.
ApprovedA quote version is approved by the customer.
ProcessingFinalization is in progress.
OrderedFinalization completed successfully.
FailedFinalization failed; the quote can be recovered.
RejectedAll quote versions are rejected or revoked; the quote can be recovered.
DeletedThe quote was soft deleted.

The platform updates the quote status automatically as quote versions change. You don't update it manually. You can also filter the quote listing by status to find quotes at any stage of the lifecycle.

Quote recovery

A quote in Failed or Rejected status can be recovered:

  • Failed: If finalization fails, the quote moves to Failed status. To recover the quote, create a new quote version. The quote returns to Open status.
  • Rejected: If all quote versions on a quote are rejected or revoked, the quote moves to Rejected status. To recover the quote, create a new quote version. The quote returns to Open status.

For more information about creating quote versions, see Create quote versions from opportunities.

Direct actions

In addition to the automatic transitions driven by quote version activity, users can perform the following direct actions on a quote, depending on their role and permissions:

  • Finalize a quote: Available at any point in the lifecycle, except when a quote is already in Ordered status. For more information, see Finalize opportunities.
  • Submit for manager review: Available at any point, except when quote status is Failed. For more information, see Submit opportunities for approval.

πŸ“ Note: The submit action is not available for a Failed quote.
