Opportunity pages display product prices in three columns: Unit Wholesale Price, Unit Selling Price, and Total Selling Price.
All opportunities users can view prices.
Sales Support Representatives (SSRs), Reseller Managers and Resellers can edit unit selling prices—the prices that customers pay—if Marketplace Managers grant them permission. For information about opportunity roles, see Configure opportunity role settings. Edited prices only apply to the opportunity; they do not affect the product price for other opportunities or other customers.
For more information about marketplace and reseller pricing, see Pricing hierarchy.
Unit wholesale price
The values that appear in the Unit Wholesale Price column differ depending on who owns (who created) the opportunity:
- When the owner of an opportunity is a Marketplace Manager or SSR, the column displays the marketplace price for each unit of product, which is set by the Developers or Marketplace Managers (see Edit marketplace pricing). The column does not display wholesale prices because they are not applicable when the marketplace sells products to customers.
- When the owner of an opportunity is a reseller, the column displays the price that the reseller pays for the products: the Reseller Wholesale Price for each unit of product, if one is set for the reseller company by Reseller Managers (see Manage the reseller catalog); if not, the marketplace Wholesale Price, if one is set by the Marketplace Manager ; and, if not, the marketplace price which is set by the Developer or Marketplace Manager.
Unit selling price
The unit selling price is the price that customers are charged for each unit of product.
The default unit selling price for opportunities that Marketplace Managers and SSRs create, is the Marketplace sale price.
The default unit selling price for opportunities that Resellers create is the Marketplace sale price.
The prices that appear on each opportunity are the currently configured product prices until users edit them. Custom prices apply to and appear on the opportunity regardless of other price changes that occur in the system. For example:
- January 1: A sales agent creates an opportunity when the product price is $10, and the price that appears on the opportunity is $10.
- January 2: The Developer changes the product price to $15.
- January 3: The agent opens the opportunity, and the price that appears is $15. The agent changes the price to $20.
- January 4: The Developer changes the product price to $18.
- January 5: The agent opens the opportunity, and the price that appears is $20.
Total selling price
Total selling price is equal to quantity multiplied by unit selling price.
