Clone opportunities

You can use an existing opportunity as a template to create a new opportunity. For example, depending on your role, if you want to change the owner or customer for the opportunity, you can do that by cloning the opportunity. You can clone an opportunity that is in any status, including closed.

đź“ť Note: If the product in the source opportunity does not belong to the catalog of the selected owner, that product will not be copied over to the new opportunity.

When you clone an opportunity, it is copied with the name of the existing opportunity and the suffix “COPY”. Alternatively, you can create a new name for the cloned opportunity.

To clone an opportunity

  1. Go to one of the following:

    • Manage > Marketplace > Opportunities. All opportunities that you have permission to view appear.
    • Manage > Companies > Company name > Billing. All opportunities that were created for the selected company appear.
    • Manage > Companies > Reseller company name > Assisted sales. For Marketplace Managers, all opportunities that were created by the selected company for its customers appear.
  2. Click the opportunity to open the details. You can clone an opportunity that is in any status, including closed.

  3. Click Clone Opportunity. The Clone Opportunity dialog box appears.

  4. Change one of the following:

    FieldDescription
    Opportunity NameA cloned opportunity is created with the COPY suffix. You can also choose to give it a new name.
    OwnerSearch and select the name of the owner. The list automatically populates as you type in the name.
    Only Marketplace Managers and Reseller Managers with the Sales Support Representative (SSR) role can change the owner of an opportunity.
    For owners of the reseller company, the list of customers is restricted to ones linked to the reseller company.
    CustomerSearch and select the name of the customer. The list automatically populates with customers as you type.
  5. Click Clone Opportunity. The cloned opportunity details page opens in a new tab. The cloned opportunity also appears in the list of opportunities.
