Configure opportunity role settings

πŸ“ Note: If the AppDirect logo appears in the upper-left corner of the page, when Manage > Marketplace appears in this topic, click the grid icon > Switch to | Store, instead.

The Opportunities feature is enabled when a New Lead or Purchase button appears in the upper-right corner of the page at Manage > Marketplace > Orders.

❗ Important: Only AppDirect can enable the Opportunities feature. Contact your AppDirect technical representative to request it.

Marketplace Managers can configure the following Reseller and Sales Support Representative (SSR) role settings, which affect what the users can do with opportunities:

  • Start assisted sales for all users β€” When enabled, they can start assisted sales for all users.
    When disabled, they can only start assisted sales for Company Administrators and Billing Administrators.

  • Create custom contracts for opportunities β€” When enabled, they can create custom contracts for opportunities.
    When disabled, they cannot create custom contracts for opportunities.

  • Set custom prices for opportunities β€” When enabled, they can set custom unit selling prices for opportunities.
    When disabled, they cannot set custom unit selling prices for opportunities.

  • Payment methods β€” When enabled, they can view, add, and replace payment methods, such as credit cards, for customer accounts from all payment method management locations in the user interface (UI), one of which is on the opportunities detail page. For example, they can manage them on the company details page when company-level billing is enabled and the user details page, opportunity details page, and change subscription checkout workflow when company-level billing is disabled.

    πŸ“ Note: The last payment method that users select for or add to a customer's account from any location in the UI becomes the customer's default payment method for all future transactions: assisted sales, self-serve checkout purchases, upgrades, and recurring subscription invoices. For more information, see Payment Methods in Customize opportunities.

    When disabled, they cannot view or manage payment methods for customers.

  • Finalize opportunities β€” When enabled, they have two options: finalize opportunities or submit them to Reseller Managers and Marketplace Managers to review and finalize.
    When disabled, they cannot finalize opportunities (they can only submit opportunities to Reseller Managers and Marketplace Managers to review and finalize).

To configure opportunity settings for Sales Support Representatives
  1. Go to Manage > Marketplace > Settings > Roles. The Roles page opens.
  2. In the Sales support section, enable or disable one or more of the following options. They are defined in the introduction to this topic. Except Start assisted sales for all users, all of the following settings are disabled by default.
    • Start assisted sales for all users
    • Create custom contracts for opportunities
    • Payment methods
    • Finalize opportunities
    • Set custom prices for opportunities
  3. Click Save Settings.
To configure opportunity settings for Resellers
  1. Go to Manage > Marketplace > Settings > Roles. The Roles page opens.
  2. In the Reseller section, enable or disable one or more of the following options. They are defined in the introduction to this topic. Except Start assisted sales for all users, all of the following settings are disabled by default.
    • Start assisted sales for all users
    • Create custom contracts for opportunities
    • Payment methods
    • Finalize opportunities
    • Set custom prices for opportunities
  3. Click Save Settings.
