View and manage notification types
Notification types correspond to marketplace events. Each predefined notification type is activated by a corresponding marketplace event that initiates the notification process. For example, when a user purchases a marketplace product, the v2 notification system selects the v2 Product Purchased notification type to begin the notification process.
Most of the notification process is determined by the notification templates associated with each notification type, but there are a number of management operations available for notification types. They are described in this section.
AppDirect must enable version 2 (v2) notifications for them to appear on your marketplace. Contact your AppDirect technical representative if you have questions.
To determine if you have v2 notifications enabled on your marketplace, go to the Notifications listing page at Manage > Marketplace > Settings > Custom UI | Notifications. Click Filters, then select Advanced features. If v2 notifications are enabled on your marketplace, the table displays only advanced (v2) notifications and the v2 value is included in the Version for every notification listed.
To view and manage notification types

- Go to Manage > Marketplace > Settings > Custom UI | Notifications. The Notifications page opens. It contains a table with the following columns:

Status—Displays three icons that represent the v2 notification methods (off-platform notifications are not available for v1 template types). Left to right, the icons are email, SMS, and off-platform:
- If the icon is green, the delivery method is currently enabled.
- If the icon is gray, the delivery method is currently disabled.

Notification type—Displays the predefined notification types in ascending alphabetical order (A - Z). You can click the column header to reverse the sort order.

Category—Displays the predefined classification for the notification type. You can click the column header to reverse the sort order.

Audience—Displays the predefined recipient user type for the notification type. You can click the column header to reverse the sort order.

Version—Displays the version of the notification type (v1 or v2).

Unnamed action column with gear icons—Displays gear icons that, when clicked for any v2 template type, open a drop-down list that includes the following options associated with the selected v2 template type:
- Edit—Displays the Default and custom notification templates associated with this template type. You can view and edit the existing templates, or create new ones as described in Work with notification templates.
- View sent notifications—Displays the Notifications Delivery Log where you can view notifications as described in View and manage the sent notifications log.
- Run test—You can run a test for any v2 notification type that is listed on the Notifications page. This runs a test of each notification delivery method (email, SMS, off-platform) associated with the selected notification type. Click Run test. For more information, see Test notification types.

- (Optional) Click Show Filters to filter the notification types using the available filters, including status, audience, category, advanced features (displays only v2 notifications), and direct sales.
