Create Azure Reservations products

Marketplace Managers can add Azure Reservations products to the catalog, and sell them to customers. Every Azure Reservations product must be associated with an Azure Plan product.

Note: AppDirect must enable some settings. Contact your AppDirect technical representative for more information.

πŸ“ Note: If your marketplace was integrated with Microsoft before January 1, 2020, contact your AppDirect technical representative. They need to check your version of the marketplace has the appropriate permissions.

Prerequisites for creating and selling all Microsoft products:

  • Create a CSP service account on the Microsoft Partner Center
  • Integrate your marketplace with the Microsoft Partner Center

To make an Azure Plan product available for purchase on a marketplace:

  • Create a new product with the cloud infrastructure and services product type. Save the product.
  • Edit the existing pricing edition of the product.
  • Add integration settings.
  • Edit the marketplace settings.
  • Edit the marketplace pricing.
    • Set prices with percentage markups and markdowns.
  • Request publication.

To create an Azure Reservations product

  1. Check there is already an Azure Plan product on your marketplace. Do one of the following:
    1. If there is an Azure Plan product on your marketplace, go to the next step.
    2. If there is no Azure Plan product on your marketplace, create one.
  2. Go to Manage > Billing and Distribution > Products > Add Products. The Create New Product page opens.
  3. Enter the product name: Azure Reservations. This is the name that marketplace customers and Company Administrators see when they shop for and purchase your product, and when they use and manage the product.
  4. Select the following:
    1. Standalone product for service type.
    2. Cloud Infrastructure and Services for product type.
    3. Full Integration for integration type.
    4. Multiple Users for the usage model.
    5. Recurring for the revenue model.
  5. Click to agree to the distribution terms and conditions.
  6. Click Create Product. The product appears on the Product Dashboard. When you add a product, the system sets some default configurations. For example, while you cannot enter a product price on the Create new product page, the system sets a default price. After you create the product, you can edit all settings.
  7. Edit the existing pricing edition of the product. Go to Manage > Marketplace > Products > productName | Edit > Editions and pricing | Editions. Select Basic. See Add recurring editions.
    1. For Edition Code, add AZURE_PLAN_RI.
    2. In the Recurring Price section
      • Billing frequency: Charge per: Month
    3. In the Flat rate prices section, click Add a flat rate price.
      • Price per month: Add zero for each currency
      • Select Metered usage. This enables metered usage for the specified unit type.
    4. In Usage options
      • Select Allow custom metered usage
    5. In the Included items section, add Unit type: User and select 2000 users.
    6. Click Save Plan.
  8. Edit the integration settings. Go to Manage > Marketplace > Products > productName | Edit > Integration | Edit Integration. See Edit integration.
    1. In the subscriptions section, select Allow multiple subscriptions purchased per company.
    2. In the User information to sync section, select Username.
  9. Edit Marketplace settings.
    1. Go to Manage > Marketplace > Products > Catalog | Production Catalog > productName > gear icon > Edit Marketplace Settings. Click Billing. See Edit marketplace settings.
      1. Select Custom start day as the billing cycle start day in the billing settings panel.
      2. For Azure Plan select the first day of the calendar month.
    2. Click General
      1. Uncheck Visible on marketplace
      2. Check Available to resellers to ensure this product is visible to Resellers.
    3. Uncheck the following:
      1. Single Sign On
      2. Update Subscription
      3. Assign and Unassign
    4. Click Save.
  10. Edit marketplace pricing, see Edit marketplace pricing.
  11. Go to Manage > Marketplace > Products > Staging Catalog > productName > Edit.
  12. Click Editions and Pricing | Marketplace Pricing
  13. Set prices with percentage markups and markdowns.
  14. Request publication of the product, see Publish products.
