Configure settings for Azure purchases and cost management

Marketplace Azure administrators can use the settings covered in this topic to monitor Azure consumption costs and manage purchase permissions.

To enable these settings:

  1. Go to Manage > Marketplace > Companies.
  2. Select a company and click the Vendor Information tab.
  3. Enable these settings to unlock new capabilities on the Azure portal:
    • Microsoft Purchase Permissions - enable this setting to allow the purchase of Azure reservations. For more information on reservations, see related documentation from Microsoft.
    • Microsoft Cost Management - enable this setting to unlock the cost management view for users with a proper role and access to the subscription. This allows visibility into consumption data and the associated retail pay-as-you-go rates in the Azure portal. For more information about Cost Management capabilities, refer to Microsoft's documentation.

Both of these settings are not enabled by default. Changes made to the settings are logged in the Activities tab.

📝 Note: These settings are only available for Microsoft reseller-enabled marketplaces. Enabling or disabling them will result in an error if the marketplace is not properly authorized or linked to an active Microsoft account or ID.
