Azure Reservations products

Marketplace Managers can add Azure Reservations products to the catalog, and sell them to customers. Customers must purchase an Azure Plan product before they purchase an Azure Reservations product. If a customer purchases an Azure Reservations product and does not have an active Azure Plan product subscription, that will cause a failed event.

📝 Note: Azure Reservations products can only be purchased on behalf of users.

The AppDirect platform detects when a customer makes their first Azure reservation purchase on the Microsoft Partner Center and automatically creates an Azure Reservations product order in the AppDirect marketplace for the customer.

Limitations

Azure Reservations products have the following limitations:

  • Cancellation is not supported on the AppDirect platform
  • Upgrades are not allowed
  • Downgrades are not allowed
  • Quantity changes are not allowed
  • They are configured with the same billing cycle and invoice delay as Azure Plan products. They are billed on the same invoice as the Azure Plan product, depending on Marketplace settings.

See Create Azure Reservations products for information on how to create an Azure Reservations product.

Azure Reservations products can only be purchased on behalf of users. For more information, see the section To purchase Azure Reservations products on behalf of users in Purchase products on behalf of users.

Azure Reservations products will be reconciled in the IaaS Invoice Reconciliation report.
