Product Uploader - New experience

The Product Uploader - New Experience provides an improved, streamlined interface for managing product catalogs in bulk. For enabled marketplaces, this experience opens by default when you navigate to Product Uploader. It offers enhanced usability, better error handling, mobile and tablet support, and a more intuitive workflow for creating, updating, and managing products at scale.

📝 Note: The legacy Product Uploader interface is planned for retirement at the end of 2026.

  • Pre-upload validation: Validate your CSV files before upload to catch errors early
  • Detailed error reports: Comprehensive error messages with specific row and column references
  • Data type checking: Automatic validation of data types and formats

Prerequisites

• Feature enablement: Contact your AppDirect technical representative to enable the Product Uploader - New Experience for your marketplace.
• Permissions: You must have Marketplace Manager or Developer role permissions.

File formats and sizes supported

• CSV file structure
  • Encoding: UTF-8 encoding is required
  • Delimiter: Comma (,) as field separator
  • Headers: First row must contain column headers
  • Quotes: Text fields containing commas should be quoted
  • Line endings: Use standard line breaks (LF or CRLF)
• File size limits
  • Maximum file size: 1 GB per file
  • Product limit: Up to 25,000 products per file
  • Asset impact: Files with images/assets may support fewer products due to size constraints

  📝 Note: Keep files under 1 GB total size, including all assets.

Migration path

• For enabled marketplaces, the new experience opens by default when you navigate to Products > CATALOG | Product uploader.
• During the transition period, you can switch back to the legacy Product Uploader at any time using the in-product toggle.
• Both experiences remain available during the transition period.
• Data created in either experience is compatible.
• No data migration is required when switching.
• Activity log data generated is exclusive to the experience used.

Access the new experience

Once enabled by your technical representative:

1. Log in to your AppDirect marketplace.
2. Navigate to Products > CATALOG | Product uploader.
3. The new Product Uploader page opens by default.

To switch to the legacy experience, click Switch to Previous Experience on the Product Uploader page. To return to the new experience, click Switch to New Experience.

Limitations

As a preview feature, the following limitations apply:

• Feature completeness: Some advanced features may not be available yet.
• Performance: Large operations may take longer than the final version.
• UI changes: Interface may change as features are added
• Documentation: Documentation will be updated as features are releases.
