Edit free trial periods

You have the option of offering a free trial for an add-on. By default, no free trial is configured but when you configure one, each customer is eligible for one free trial per product. This page explains how to configure one.

To configure a free trial period

  1. If you are not already on the Manage Add-On Pricing page, click Manage > Billing and Distribution > Products > productName | Edit > Connections & Pricing | Pricing. The Manage Add-on Pricing page opens for the selected add-on product.
  2. Select the free trial period duration unit (day or month) from the Free Trial Period drop-down list, and then enter a number for the number of days or months that the free trial lasts.
  3. Grace period for free trials represents the amount of time (in days) after the free trial ends before the customer's services are canceled. During this time the customer does not have access to their account. The application tile will appear in a suspended state on the MyApps page. Select one of the following to configure the setting.
    • Blank - The product subscription is not automatically canceled. Instead, it remains in the free trial expired state. To cancel the subscription, a Marketplace Manager or Developer manually cancels it.
    • 0 - A value of zero means that the product has no grace period. The product is automatically canceled the day after the free trial ends. This is not recommended because after a product is canceled, the user cannot recover the same account, even if they purchase the application.
    • >0 - Enter the number of days after the free trial ends before the customer's services are canceled.
  4. Click Save Plan to save this configuration. A message confirms that the configuration is saved.
