Add-on products for Microsoft products

End users can purchase Microsoft products on the marketplace and they can also purchase add-on products. There are add-on products specific to Microsoft, which can have child add-ons. Marketplace Managers and Resellers can purchase these add-ons for users in their marketplaces through assisted sales.

The required order is as follows:

  1. Purchase the parent Microsoft product.
  2. Purchase the Microsoft add-on product associated with the parent product. You can purchase the add-on product at the same time that you purchase the parent product.
  3. Purchase the Microsoft child add-on product.

If a user tries to purchase a Microsoft add-on product and has not purchased the prerequisite add-ons or parent product, an error message appears on the order creation page during the add-on purchase flow. It informs the user which add-on(s) they must purchase before they purchase their current add-on.
