Edit connections to parent products

Connections create associations between an add-on product, and a standalone product (also referred to as a parent). You also select whether you want to connect the add-on product to all, one, or more than one edition of the standalone product. You can connect an add-on product to an unlimited number of standalone products, and you can connect an unlimited number of add-on products to each standalone product.

To connect add-on products to standalone products

  1. Click Manage > Billing and Distribution > Products > productName | Edit > Connections & Pricing | Connections. The Connections page opens for the selected add-on product.
  2. Locate the application to which you want to connect the add-on in the Connect Add-on to Products table. You can optionally filter and search for the product. Click Select next to the product name.
The productName Edition Settings dialog appears. By default, the add-on is available for all standalone product editions, which are listed with a series of selected checkboxes.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • Click OK to make the add-on available for customers to purchase with all editions.
    • Switch Add-on available for all product editions to off, clear the checkboxes next to the editions for which you do not want the add-on to be available for purchase, and then click OK.
When the checkbox is cleared from an edition, the add-on is hidden from customers when they purchase those editions. Resellers, Reseller Managers, and Sales Support Representatives see them during assisted sales flows, but because they are unavailable for an edition, customers cannot purchase them independently.
  4. (Optional) Repeat the steps to connect the add-on to other products.
  5. (Optional) Click the gear icon next to any product in the Connected Products table, then do one of the following:
    • Select Edition Settings to change the associations between the add-on and the editions.
    • Select Remove Connection to remove the association between the add-on and the product.
  6. Do one of the following:
    • Click Save.
    • Click Save and Preview. A preview of your marketplace product profile appears. To edit a profile element, you can link directly from the preview to the configuration page for the element. See Preview product profiles.
