Developer product distribution

When this update is enabled for your marketplace, Network Catalog Managers own marketplace distribution decisions for syndicated products. Developers submit products to the Network Catalog; Network Catalog Managers handle distribution placement on child marketplaces.

📝 Note: This behavior is enabled per marketplace. Contact your AppDirect technical representative if you are unsure whether it applies to your marketplace.

Changes for Developers​

When developer distribution simplification is enabled:

  • The Add to Marketplaces panel no longer appears on the product editing page.
  • The per-marketplace distribution request workflow is removed.
  • New vendor-requested distribution requests cannot be created.

Developers continue to create, configure, and publish products. After a product is submitted to the Network Catalog, the Network Catalog Manager distributes it to the appropriate child marketplaces.

Manage Distribution page​

The Manage Distribution page for Developers no longer includes distribution actions. Distribution capabilities will return in future releases in clarified forms. Details will be announced separately.
