Network Catalog Manager
Only AppDirect can enable the Network Add-on feature. Contact your AppDirect technical representative to request it.
The Network Catalog Manager can add published products to the staging catalog of their child marketplaces. This includes products native (created in) to the parent marketplace, or products that have been syndicated to the parent marketplace from a marketplace located above it in the hierarchy. It also includes products in the AppDirect catalog if the marketplace is the top-level marketplace.
Network Catalog Managers can also push approved network catalog products to immediate child marketplaces, approve distribution requests, and use catalog utilities to manage imported applications, access sample catalog applications, and transfer products within their network hierarchy. See the following topics:
- Add products to child marketplaces
- Approve network distribution requests
- Push products to child marketplaces
- NCM catalog utilities
A child marketplace is a marketplace one level below a Network Catalog Manager (parent) marketplace. To create child marketplaces, you will need the Network Add-on feature. Contact your AppDirect technical representative for more information.
When a Network Catalog Manager adds a product to a child marketplace, the following information is copied to the child marketplace:
Profile and branding
- Basic information including the starting price
- Currency
- Supported currencies
- Legal links
- Logo
- Categories
- Overview
- Screen shots
- Benefits (marketing statements)
- Feature information and images
- Featured customers and media sources
- Product technical support
- Resource documents and videos
- Locale based settings
Edition and pricing
- Edition name and code
- Target audience
- Primary pricing plan
- Legal links
- Payment plans
- Services included with the edition
- Edition features and benefits
- Shared features and footnotes
- Marketplace pricing - Developer price
When cost-based pricing is enabled, child marketplaces can also inherit product cost from the parent network when configuring marketplace pricing for syndicated products. Child marketplace managers can override inherited cost with a custom cost value when needed. See Cost-based pricing.
Integration
- All
If the Marketplace Manager or the Developer modifies the branding of a product in their (parent) marketplace, after it was added to the child marketplace, the changes are not copied to the child marketplace.
Users must have the Network Catalog Manager role to add their products to a child marketplaces. Network catalog management is only available to Network edition marketplaces.
