Synchronize data

The sync settings page contains two panels:

  • Company Sync Settings— Marketplace Managers use these settings to synchronize company data from the Microsoft Partner Center to their marketplaces.
  • User Sync Settings—Marketplace Managers use these settings to synchronize user information from the Microsoft Partner Center and the Google Admin console to their marketplaces.

Company Sync

Marketplace Managers onboard new companies by synchronizing company data, and the primary contact for the Microsoft account, directly from the Microsoft Partner Center to their marketplaces. A Microsoft customer tenant can be synchronized to one or more marketplaces.

Marketplace Managers can also link an imported company with a company that already exists on their marketplace. Contact your AppDirect technical representative to enable Link Company. In the Company Sync Settings, you must enable Company Sync and disable Create companies automatically. The imported companies are displayed in the Pending companies table. From the Pending companies table you can:

  • View detailed information about an imported company.
  • Create a company on the marketplace. Do this when the pending company does not exist on the marketplace.
  • Link a company to a marketplace company. Do this when the company is flagged with a green check mark indicating one or more matches have been found on the marketplace.

Sometimes an imported company appears in the Pending Companies table without a green check mark even though there is a possible company match in the marketplace. You can still link the company to a marketplace company. For more information see Link pending companies.

Prerequisites for Company Sync

  • The Marketplace Manager must Request a reseller relationship with Microsoft.
  • Contact your AppDirect technical representative to enable Company Sync. Provide a native App Application ID from the Microsoft Partner Center.
  • Contact your AppDirect technical representative to enable Link company if you would like to link an imported company with an existing company in the marketplace.

To synchronize companies

📝 Note: If the AppDirect logo appears in the upper-left corner of the page, when Manage > Marketplace appears in this topic, click the grid icon > Switch to | Store, instead.

  1. Go to Manage > Marketplace > Settings > Data Sync | Sync Settings. Select the Company Sync settings.
There are five Company Sync settings:
    • Company Sync—Click Company Sync to enable it. When enabled, the marketplace starts to copy Microsoft CSP tenants that are not already associated with a marketplace company into the Pending Companies table. To view pending companies go to Manage > Marketplace > Pending Companies. The two settings, Create companies automatically and Invite admins when companies are created, determine how Company Sync behaves. When Company Sync is disabled, new companies are not synced to the marketplace. These settings can be enabled or disabled. They have no effect when Company Sync is disabled.
The Sales Support can manage pending companies and Customer Support can manage pending companies settings are enabled, and disabled, by the Company Sync setting.
The four settings have no effect when Company Sync is disabled.
    • Create companies automatically (Optional)—Click the toggle to create companies automatically. The marketplace attempts to create companies when it detects them. When disabled, the Marketplace Manager must review pending companies, and then create the companies manually using Manage Microsoft pending companies. To link companies disable this setting.
    • Invite admins when companies are created (Optional)—Click the toggle to enable the marketplace to automatically invite the administrator when a company is created. This applies to companies that are created automatically or manually. When disabled, the marketplace does not automatically invite the administrator when the company is created. In this case, the Marketplace Manager invites them at a later date.
    • Sales Support can manage pending companies (Optional)—Click the toggle to allow users with the Sales Support (SSR) role to view and manage pending companies on the Manage > Marketplace > Home | Companies | Pending Companies page.
    • Customer Support can manage pending companies (Optional)—Click the toggle to allow users with the Customer Support (CSR) role to view and manage pending companies on the Manage > Marketplace > Home | Companies | Pending Companies page.
  2. Select your settings and click Save. The Company Sync settings are saved.

User Sync

Marketplace Managers onboard new Microsoft users by synchronizing user data directly from the Microsoft Partner Center to their marketplaces. They can also onboard new Google users by synchronizing user data directly from the Google Admin console to their marketplaces. These settings should be enabled by default.
