Invite external users
You can invite external users to your marketplace. If the marketplace detects the user already exists, it merges the new user information into the existing record. Company Administrators can view and invite pending users.
📝 Note: This option is not available for marketplaces that use an external IdP.
To view and invite users to the marketplace
- Go to Manage > Account > Users > Manage Users | Pending users.The Pending users page appears with a table showing first and last names, email addresses, status (not invited or invited) and Developer.
- Click the gear icon in the row of the user with a status of not invited. Select one of the following options:
- Invite User
- Link User
- Unassign user
- Click Invite User.The Invite user dialog appears.
Note the following about the previous graphic:- The user’s name and email address is automatically populated.
- You cannot edit the user’s name.
- You can edit the email address.
- Select an option from the Role drop-down list. The list you see depends on your role but may include the following:
- User
- Billing Admin
- Company Admin
- Click Confirm. The invitation is sent to the user to join the marketplace. You can manage and view invited users.
- Go to Manage > Account > Users | Manage Users.
- Click Manage Invitations.
- (Optional, for Google products only). Click Link User. The Link User dialog appears.
- Type an existing marketplace user name or email address in the text box. A list of possible matches appears.
- Select the correct existing user and click Confirm. A confirmation message appears.
- (Optional, for Google products only). Click Unassign user. A warning message appears. The message warns the Company Administrator that after they unassign the user, the user’s Google account will be deleted. All emails, calendars, documents and contacts associated with the user are also removed.
- Click Okay. An unassign request is sent to the Google Admin console. A confirmation message appears on the marketplace. If the unassign request is successful, the user is deleted from the marketplace and is also deleted from the Google Admin console.
- If a user has multiple subscriptions to Google products, and automatic licensing is enabled for the user on the Google Admin console, Google will not allow the license to be unassigned or deletion of the user. The user would have to disable automatic licensing on the Google Admin console.
