Add products to the Production Catalog
📝 Note: If the AppDirect logo appears in the upper-left corner of the page, when Manage > Marketplace appears in this topic, click the grid icon > Switch to | Store, instead.
Customers in your marketplace can view and purchase products that have been added to your Production Catalog.
To add products to the Production Catalog you must first create them, and then publish them from the Staging Catalog when they are ready for sale on the marketplace.
Product creation is an involved process. This topic discusses how to get started, and provides links to other parts of the online help where it is discussed in more detail.
To create a new product
- Go to Manage > Marketplace > Products > Catalogs | Staging Catalog; or if you are already in the Production Catalog, click Add Staging Product.
The Staging Catalog opens. It displays all products that are available to be published to your production marketplace, including those that have already been published. - At the top of the Staging Catalog page, click one of the buttons:
- Create Product—Displays the Create New Product page, where you can create a new product. For information about creating new products, see Add Products.
- Add Network Product—This button only appears if you have access to the network catalog. It displays the Add from the Network Catalog page. There you can select a network catalog product, add it to your Staging Catalog, and customize it before publishing it to your Production Catalog. For more infofrmation, see Add network products to the staging catalog.
📝 Note: If the AppDirect logo appears in the upper-left corner of the page, the Create Product and Add Network Product buttons appear in your Production Catalog as well as in your Staging Catalog. When this is the case, you can also launch these functions directly from the Product Catalog.
- Continue with the appropriate process for creating the product. In addition to the links in step 2, see the Staging catalog section for more information about the relationship between the different types of catalog and how they work together.
To publish a product to your Production Catalog
- Go to Manage > Marketplace > Products > Catalogs | Staging Catalog. The Staging Catalog opens. It displays all products that are available to be published to your production marketplace, including those that have already been published.
- Locate the product currently in the Staging Catalog that you want to publish to the Production Catalog.
- Click Edit.
The Product Dashboard opens. - (Optional) Complete any product configuration settings that are required.
- Click Publish.
You are prompted to confirm the publication. - Click Publish & Add To Marketplace.
The product Setting page appears. - Set the display options in this dialog as described in Edit product marketplace settings.
- Click Save.
The Production Catalog opens and displays a message that the product has been published. The product is now included in the Production Catalog, and available for purchase on your marketplace. The product is still available in your Staging Catalog, and in the future you can make updates to it there before republishing it to production.
