Document Builder prerequisites

Even if Document Builder is enabled and accessible through the user interface, additional configuration is required. Use the following procedures to check the configuration prerequisites are met for Document Builder to be fully functional.

Additionally, before Resellers can use Document Builder, Marketplace Managers must enable a Reseller role permission. For more information, see Configure Reseller role permissions.

To check if Document Builder is enabled

Go to Manage > Marketplace > Settings.

  • If enabled, DOCUMENT BUILDER appears in the left menu. Use the following procedures to check if it is enabled for quote templates, invoice templates, both, or neither.

    When Document Builder is enabled, at Manage > Marketplace > Settings > DOCUMENT BUILDER | Manage Templates, the drop-down displays quote templates as an option. However, quote templates might not be enabled. Use the following procedure to confirm whether they are.

  • If not enabled, contact your AppDirect technical representative to request Document Builder.
To check if quote templates are enabled for Document Builder

Prerequisite 1: The Opportunities feature must be enabled.

To check if the Opportunities feature is enabled

Go to Manage > Marketplace > Orders.

  • If enabled, the New Lead or Purchase button appears in the upper-right corner of the page.
  • If disabled, contact your AppDirect technical representative to discuss enabling it to support Document Builder custom quote templates.

Prerequisite 2: The marketplace must be configured to link the Quotes feature and Document Builder custom quotes.

Contact your AppDirect technical representative to confirm whether the required setting is configured.

To check if invoice templates are enabled for Document Builder

Prerequisite: The Enhanced invoice feature must be enabled.

To check if the Enhanced invoice feature is enabled

Go to Manage > Marketplace > Settings.

  • If enabled, Invoice Settings appears in the left menu.
  • If disabled, contact your AppDirect technical representative to request it.
