Document Builder
Document Builder can support quote and invoice templates. However, even if Document Builder is enabled and accessible through the user interface, additional one-time configuration might be required.
Go to Manage > Marketplace > Settings.
- If DOCUMENT BUILDER appears in the left menu, see Document Builder prerequisites to confirm whether it is configured for invoice templates, quote templates, both, or neither.
- If DOCUMENT BUILDER does not appear in the left menu, either Contact your AppDirect technical representative to request it, or see Invoice templates and Quote templates to create and manage templates instead.
When users download quotes and invoices, the platform references PDF templates created and managed with Document Builder.
Marketplace Managers, and Resellers with role permissions, can use Document Builder to create, edit, and manage PDF quote and invoice templates for every language a marketplace supports, to meet marketplace billing, localization, and branding requirements. You can do all of the following:
- copy seed templates (initial default platform templates) to create custom templates
- modify custom templates with the native JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) editor
- modify custom templates with the visual editor
- configure which templates the platform uses by default
Permissions for Resellers
To give Resellers permission to use Document Builder to customize templates, see Configure Reseller role permissions.
