Set a password policy

The following procedure describes how a Company Administrator can select a password policy for your company. The policy is enforced for all current and future members of your company.

To set a password policy

  1. Go to Manage > Account > Company Settings. The Company Settings page opens.
  2. Select one of the following Password Policy options.
    • Strict—Each marketplace account must be secured with a password that is at least ten characters long and matches the following pattern:
      • Contains at least one uppercase letter (A - Z)
      • Contains at least one lowercase letter (a - z)
      • Contains at least one digit (0 - 9) or special character (~!@#$%^&*()_+=<>?)
Strict passwords expire automatically and must be changed on the 90th day. You can configure your marketplace to send users an email notification when their passwords are scheduled to expire.
    • Moderate—Each marketplace account must be secured with a password that is at least eight characters long and matches the following pattern:
      • Contains at least one letter (A - Z or a - z)
      • Contains at least one digit (0 - 9) or special character (~!@#$%^&*()_+=<>?)
Moderate passwords expire automatically and must be changed on the 90th day. You can configure your marketplace to send users an email notification when their passwords are scheduled to expire.
    • Default—This is the least secure policy. Each marketplace account must be secured with a password that is at least eight characters long and matches the following pattern:
      • Contains at least one letter (A - Z or a - z)
      • Contains at least one digit (0 - 9) or special character (~!@#$%^&*()_+=<>?)
Default passwords do not expire automatically.
  3. Click Save. Your password policy is saved and enforced for your marketplace company.
