Impersonate users
Marketplace Managers can impersonate a user to help resolve issues that the user is encountering, or to ensure configuration settings are properly applied to the user.
Impersonating a user gives you full access to the user’s account, as though you had logged in as that user.
AppDirect can configure the following Impersonate User options for your marketplace:
- The user must grant permission before being impersonated.
- The number of days before the impersonation expires.
Contact your AppDirect technical representative to request these options.
📝Note: You cannot impersonate a user who has higher-level permissions. For example, a Marketplace Manager cannot impersonate a Network Manager.
To impersonate a user
📝 Note: If the AppDirect logo appears in the upper-left corner of the page, when Manage > Marketplace appears in this topic, click the grid icon > Switch to | Store, instead.
- Go to Manage > Marketplace > Dashboard > Home | Users > user name. The User details page opens.
- Click Impersonate. The selected user's MyApps page opens and the user's name appears in the top navigation pane.
- You are logged in to the selected user’s account and can perform tasks or view configurations as required.
- While you impersonate a user, a yellow banner appears at the top of every page that you view in the user interface. The notification identifies the name of the impersonated user and their email address. The banner is pinned to the top of the page and remains visible on every page that you visit, even when you scroll down a page.
- Click End Session in the notification pane to stop impersonating the user. You are returned to your account on the User details page that you were previously viewing.
