Configure cancellation restrictions

Cancellation restrictions define how bundles are offered, discounted, and canceled. There are three settings:

  • Allow checkout for partial bundle
  • Cancellation as a bundle
  • Remove discounts upon a cancellation

You can accept the default settings (take no action) or complete this procedure to edit them. Each setting is explained in the procedure.

To configure cancellation restrictions

📝 Note: If the AppDirect logo appears in the upper-left corner of the page, when Manage > Marketplace appears in this topic, click the grid icon > Switch to | Store, instead.

  1. Go to Manage > Marketplace > Products > Promotions | Bundles. The Bundles page opens.
  2. Click the gear icon beside the bundle that you want to edit > Edit Bundle. The Bundle Dashboard page opens.
  3. Click Cancellation Restriction. The Cancellation Restrictions page opens.
  4. Select or clear Allow checkout for partial bundle.
    • Enabled (default)
      • Customers can buy a partial bundle (they can remove products from a bundle during checkout).
      • Customers can buy a bundle if they already subscribe to one or more of the products in the bundle. Products to which they already subscribe are automatically excluded from the bundle (unless a product is stackable, in which case they can purchase additional units via the bundle).
      • Customers cannot buy a bundle if they already subscribe to all the products in it (unless a product is stackable, in which case they can purchase additional units via the bundle).
    • Disabled
      • Customers can only buy a complete bundle.
      • Customers can only buy a bundle if they do not subscribe to any of the products in the bundle.
  5. Select or clear Cancellation as a bundle.
    • Enabled
      • Customers can cancel bundles in their entirety. They cannot cancel individual products within a bundle.
      • Customers can buy a bundle and then purchase add-ons for products in the bundle, but before they can cancel the bundle they must cancel the add-ons.
      • Marketplace Managers, Sales Support Representatives (SSRs), and Resellers are not subject to this restriction. They can cancel a product within a bundle on behalf of a customer without canceling the bundle.
      • When impersonating a customer, sales agents are bound to the same restrictions as the end customer.
      • If a product is subject to a contract which does not allow for early termination, the bundle is canceled but the product under contract is not. The contracted product is canceled on the first date that the contract permits. Cancellation cannot be revoked.
    • Disabled (default)
      • Customers can cancel one product in a bundle. It does not affect the other subscriptions in the bundle.
      • Customers can buy a bundle and then purchase add-ons for products in the bundle, but before they can cancel the product they must cancel the add-ons.
  6. Select or clear Remove discounts upon a cancellation (only available when Cancellation as a bundle is disabled). This only affects bundle-level discounts (discounts configured for the bundle and applied when the bundle is purchased). Application-level discounts are applicable for the duration of the app subscription.
    • Enabled
      • When customers cancel one product in a bundle, bundle-level discounts are removed from all of the products in the bundle.
      • Discount cancellations are effective at the start of the next billing period.
      • This setting applies to all roles. It cannot be overridden by, for example, Resellers.
      • Resellers can reapply discounts to individual products.
    • Disabled (default)
      • When customers cancel a product in a bundle, the bundle-level discounts are unaffected for the other products in the bundle.
  7. Click Save. A message appears confirming that the cancellation restriction configuration is saved.
