Manage product bundles

As a Marketplace Manager, you can create and sell groups of products known as bundles on your marketplace. Logically bundling complementary products together helps generate additional marketplace revenue, introduces customers to additional products they may not be aware of, and can simplify their shopping experience. You can also offer discounts on bundles to further promote them.

📝 Note: By default, products from any developer can be combined in a bundle. However, you can request that AppDirect configure your marketplace to limit each bundle to products from one developer. If this is a desirable constraint for your marketplace and it is not yet configured, contact your AppDirect technical representative.

You can create, configure, and publish bundles to a marketplace. When you create a bundle with the default settings, customers can do the following:

  • Buy a partial bundle (remove products from a bundle during checkout).
  • Buy a bundle if they already own one or more of the products in the bundle. Products that they already own are automatically excluded from the bundle.
  • Only buy a bundle if they do not own all products in a bundle.
  • Cancel one product in a bundle. It does not affect the other subscriptions in the bundle.
  • Buy a bundle and then purchase add-ons for a product in the bundle, but before they can cancel the product they must cancel the add-ons.
  • Cancel one product in a bundle without affecting bundle discounts for the remaining products.

However, after you create the bundle you can change these settings. For more information, see Configure cancellation restrictions.
