Create and manage report templates

You can create report templates to generate consistent reports at any time.

When you create a new template, you can base it on any existing customizable report, or on a template that you previously created. For example, if you previously created a template called Invoice Details Template, you can use that template to create a new template.

After you create a template, users who have the same role as you can create reports using the template. If you have the Network Manager role, you can create templates for users that have another role.

To create a report template
  1. Go to one of the following locations, depending on your role:
    • Marketplace Manager—Manage > Marketplace > Reports > Templates | Create Template.
    • Developer—Manage > Billing And Distribution > Reports > Templates | Create Template.
    • Company Administrator—Manage > Account > Reports > Templates | Create Template.
    • Network Manager—Manage > Network > Reports > Templates | Create Template.
    • Reseller—Manage > Reseller > Reports > Templates | Create Template.
      The Create Template page opens.
  2. If you have the Network Manager role, in the Template details pane, select a target role from the drop-down list. All users in your marketplace with the selected role can use the template to create a report.
  3. From the template type drop-down list, select the report type you want to use as the basis for your template. The fields and filters available to create your template appear.
  4. Configure the template with the filters in the choose fields, rename and reorder, and filter fields tabs. You can also click Show Advanced Settings for more options. See Create reports for more information on these filters and settings.
  5. Click Create Template. Your template is generated and is available as a report type that you can select to create reports. The template also appears in the Manage Templates list.
To manage templates
  1. Go to one of the following locations, depending on your role:

    • Marketplace Manager—Manage > Marketplace > Reports > Templates | Manage Template.
    • Developer—Manage > Billing And Distribution > Reports > Templates | Manage Template.
    • Company Administrator—Manage > Account > Reports > Templates | Manage Template.
    • Network Manager—Manage > Network > Reports > Templates | Manage Template.
    • Reseller—Manage > Reseller > Reports > Templates | Manage Template.

    The Manage Template page opens with a list of all templates. Each row includes the following information:

    • Template name—Name of the template.
    • Created for—Role that can use the template.
    • Template type—The report on which the template is based.
    • Status—Enabled or disabled.
  2. (Optional) To disable a template, click the toggle in the Status column. The report template is no longer available in the drop-down list on the Create Report page.

  3. (Optional) To change the template name:

    1. Click the pencil icon next to the template name. A dialog opens.
    2. Enter a new template name, then click Confirm.
