Roles in parent and child marketplaces

A number of marketplace roles are important for marketplaces that have a parent child hierarchy. The Network Manager role is optional. A user with this role can manage a hierarchy of multiple marketplaces. See Network Manager.

The parent marketplace will need to have a user with the Network Catalog Manager role. This role was created specifically to allow a parent marketplace to syndicate a product to a child marketplace. See Network Catalog Manager and Add products to child marketplaces.

Both roles are only available to customers who have purchased the Network Add-on and have an Network edition marketplace.

Parent and child marketplace need a user with the Marketplace Manager role because that role controls the setting that configures the permissions of each user role in their marketplace. See Role permissions. Also, the Marketplace Manager manages a setting that allows a parent marketplace to control branding changes on products syndicated to their child marketplaces.
