Assign user roles

Important: The v1 version of role management pages is deprecated. The support and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) that are offered to marketplaces that currently use v1 will continue to apply until v1 is retired. Support for v1 will end when the product is retired. Retirement is currently scheduled to happen on June 24, 2022. When v1 is decommissioned, it will no longer be available and you'll need to migrate to v2. See Product lifecycle phases for more information about the duration and impacts of each phase. Contact your AppDirect technical representative to have v2 enabled for your marketplace.

Assign roles to each user in your company to determine which actions they can perform.

To assign user roles

  1. Go to Manage > Account > Users > Manage Users | Roles. The Manage Roles page opens. It displays a list of all users in your company in the left pane, and a list of all available roles in the right pane.
  2. Locate the user whose roles you want to change. If there are many users, you can locate a specific user using the Search file, or click Show Filters to filter based on status or role.
  3. Select the user. Any roles that have already been assigned to the user are displayed in the right pane with a checkmark.
  4. Scroll through the list of roles and select or clear roles as required.

    📝 Note: Some roles might have checkmarks that you cannot clear, because certain roles automatically require the permissions of other roles. For example, a Company Administrator automatically receives Billing Administrator permissions. In addition, all users are automatically assigned the User role when they are first created as users, so you cannot remove that role.

  5. Click Save Changes. The user's roles are updated.
