Purchases

Purchases are customer transactions completed through checkout and opportunities. For example, a customer adds items to a checkout cart and buys them, or a sales agent adds items to an opportunity and buys them on behalf of a customer.

Purchases represent initial purchase transactions. Recurring payments, usage payments, and subscription upgrades and changes, do not generate purchases.

Items in a purchase can be digital products that need to be provisioned (such as software licenses that need to be set up by the vendor), physical goods that need to be fulfilled (such as hardware that needs to be shipped to the customer), items that do not need to be provisioned or fulfilled, and any combination thereof.
