Test subscription integration from Account Details

This topic explains how you can perform the subscription integration tests that are available from the Account Details pages: Suspend Account, Reactivate Account, Cancel Account, Upcoming Invoice notification, and Edit Order dates.

These tests use your AppDirect account as the customer account. They create, change, and cancel a real subscription for your account. Your account is flagged as a tester account for your own products, so you are not charged for the subscriptions.

To understand the full scope of available subscription integration testing and the relationship between the tests that you can perform on the Integration Report page and the Account Details page, see Accounts.

To test subscription integration from the Account Details page

  1. Go to Manage > Billing and Distribution > Products > productName | Edit > Integration | Accounts. The Accounts page opens and the table displays one subscription.
If no subscription appears in the table, go to the Integration Report page to run the Subscribe to Your Product test. The subscription that you generate for a standalone product will appear in the standalone product's Accounts page table. If an add-on product is connected to the standalone product and you included the add-on product in the order, the subscription for the add-on product appears on its Accounts page table and the triggered events appear on its Events page table.

  2. To view the subscription details, click the row. The Account Details page opens.

  3. To test subscription suspension and reactivation:

    1. Click Suspend Account. A confirmation message appears, and on the right side, the Status field displays Suspended.
    2. Click Reactivate Account. A confirmation message appears, and on the right side, the Status field displays Active.
  4. To test upcoming invoice notification delivery for customers, click Upcoming Invoice. A confirmation message appears.

  5. To test subscription changes:

    1. Click Edit Order. The Edit Order dialog appears.
    2. Enter a new date in one or more of the fields that you want to test (Order State Date, Order End Date, Billing End Date, and End of Contract Date).
    3. Click Save. The popup closes and a confirmation message appears.
Repeat with different fields as required.
  6. To test subscription cancellation:

    1. Click Suspend Account. This suspends all products, standalone and add-on, that were included in the order. A confirmation message appears, and on the right side, the Status field displays Suspended.

    💥 CAUTION
When you click Cancel Account, the subscription is canceled and no longer appears on the Accounts page. When you need another one for testing, you can create a new one from the Integration Report page.

    1. Click Cancel Account. One of the following occurs:
      • A message confirms that the subscription is canceled.
      • A message advises that the standalone product cannot be canceled because an add-on product subscription exists. Use the click-path in step 1 of this procedure to go to the add-on product Accounts page and follow this procedure to cancel the add-on subscription. Then return to this step to cancel the standalone product subscription.
