Independent purchase permission for Microsoft Azure Savings Plan

Partners can now control Azure Savings Plan self-serve purchase eligibility per customer, independently of Azure Reservations.

Previously, the marketplace only showed a permission toggle for Azure Reservations (under Vendor Information > Microsoft Purchase Permissions). Microsoft Partner Center treats Azure Reservations and Azure Savings Plan as two separate, independent permissions. The marketplace only surfaced one of them. Partners who wanted to restrict or allow Savings Plan purchases for a specific customer had to make that change directly in Partner Center, outside the marketplace.

This release closes this gap. A new toggle (Azure Savings Plan) is added under Microsoft Purchase Permissions, alongside the existing Azure Reservations control. Turning it on for a customer allows that customer to purchase Azure Savings Plans directly in the Azure portal. Turning it off restricts that access. The two permissions are fully independent. A partner can grant one without the other. Changing either setting updates Microsoft Partner Center through the same integration path already used for Azure Reservations.

📝 Note: No action is required for existing Azure Reservations settings. Every customer's current Reservations permission carries forward as-is. The new savings plan toggle is off by default for every customer. If any customer currently purchases Azure Savings Plans through a path outside the marketplace, that access is unaffected by this setting.
