Changes to Network Catalog distribution experience

This release improves how Network Catalog Managers and Developers work with syndicated products. The Network Catalog Manager interface is updated to improve usability and support additional capabilities, including Import Catalog management and transferring products between environments. The release includes two related updates for Network Catalog workflows: simplified developer distribution and self-service catalog utilities for Network Catalog Managers (NCMs).

📝 Note: Network Catalog Manager is available only to customers with a Network edition marketplace. Some capabilities are further restricted to AppDirect base partner marketplaces.

Changes to distribution management of syndicated products

Previously, Developers and Superusers could view the marketplaces where a product was syndicated on the product Manage Distribution page. Product submission to the network is changing in upcoming releases. In preparation for that change, the Manage Distribution page for Developers and Network Catalog Managers no longer includes distribution capabilities. Some of these capabilities will return in future releases in clarified forms. Details will be announced separately.

Network Catalog utilities

Import Catalog, Sample Catalog, and Transfer Products, previously available only through Superuser, are now available to Network Catalog Managers directly in the Network Catalog Manager portal when this feature is enabled for your marketplace.

Superuser and Super Support access to these tools is unchanged but will be deprecated in a later release.

This feature is not enabled by default. Contact your AppDirect technical representative to request it.

Setting enablement

NCM catalog utilities require the Network Catalog Management marketplace capability and the Network Catalog Manager role.
