Network Catalog Manager

The Network Catalog Manager can add published products to the staging catalog of their child marketplaces. This includes products native (created in) to the parent marketplace, or products that have been syndicated to the parent marketplace from a marketplace located above it in the hierarchy. It also includes products in the AppDirect catalog if the marketplace is the top-level marketplace. See Add products to child marketplaces.

A child marketplace is a marketplace one level below a Network Catalog Manager (parent) marketplace. To create child marketplaces, you will need the Network Add-on feature. Contact your AppDirect technical representative for more information.

When a Network Catalog Manager adds a product to a child marketplace, the following information is copied to the child marketplace:

Profile and branding

  • Basic information including the starting price
  • Currency
  • Supported currencies
  • Legal links
  • Logo
  • Categories
  • Overview
  • Screen shots
  • Benefits (marketing statements)
  • Feature information and images
  • Featured customers and media sources
  • Product technical support
  • Resource documents and videos
  • Locale based settings

Edition and pricing

  • Edition name and code
  • Target audience
  • Primary pricing plan
  • Legal links
  • Payment plans
  • Services included with the edition
  • Edition features and benefits
  • Shared features and footnotes
  • Marketplace pricing - Developer price

Integration

If the Marketplace Manager or the Developer modifies the branding of a product in their (parent) marketplace, after it was added to the child marketplace, the changes are not copied to the child marketplace.

Users must have the Network Catalog Manager role to add their products to a child marketplaces. Network catalog management is only available to Network edition marketplaces.
