View and manage leads

Resellers and Reseller Managers can view and manage all of their existing leads on the Leads page. The page displays the existing leads in a table sorted by the lead's creation date. The management options available for each lead in the table varies depending on the status of the lead, and the permissions set by the Reseller Manager as described in Manage reseller company permissions.

To view and manage leads,

  1. Go to Manage > Reseller > Home | Referral Leads. The Leads page appears.

Note the following in the Leads table.

  • Includes the following columns:
    • Created—Lead's creation date. Click the column heading to sort it from newest to oldest (default) or oldest to newest.
    • Company—Name of the company associated with the lead.
    • User—Name of the potential customer associated with the lead.
    • Source—One of the following creators of the lead: {resellerCompanyName} if the lead was created from the Reseller company’s profile page; {companyName} if the lead was created by a Referral user, Reseller, or Developer; {marketplaceName} if the lead was created by a Reseller Manager or Sales Support Representative (SSR); or {productProfile} if the lead was created in the marketplace by an anonymous user.
    • Recipient—One of the following users or groups responsible for managing the lead: {AppResellerHostName} if the lead was referred to or created manually by a Reseller Manager; {AppResellerHostName} Sales if the lead is assigned to an SSR; or {companyName} if the lead is assigned to a Reseller company or the lead was created by a Referral user or Reseller.
    • Status—Current state of the lead. The states are Submitted, Assigned, Referred, Converted, Disqualified, and Deleted.
  • You can filter the leads by clicking Show Filters, then selecting one of the following options:
    • Date range—Specify a start and end date.
    • Custom attribute—Select an attribute from the drop-down list, then enter the corresponding value in the field that appears.
  • You can search the leads by entering a string in the Search field.
  1. The Download CSV button generates a report that contains lead information.
The downloaded CSV can contain only a maximum of 50 records.
  2. Click any row in the Leads table. The selected lead's details page appears. The available management options and details displayed depend on the status of the selected lead and the current user's company permissions.

  1. Click one or more of the following management options:
    • Convert to Customer—The Convert to Customer dialog appears. Click Convert to Customer to create a company using the details collected when the lead was created (either manually by a Reseller or Reseller Manager, or by a Referral user). The following events occur:
      • A message confirms that the lead was converted into a customer company and that you can now sell to and manage this customer on the user's details page (at Manage > Reseller > Home | Users > {userName}). The message includes a link to the new user’s details page.
      • The new company is created without any explicit company access rights (that is, the Developer Access, Marketplace Access, and Reseller Access checkboxes on the company’s details page are not selected).
      • The company is linked to the Reseller assigned the lead. This Reseller can sell to, or buy on behalf of, any current or future member of this company.
      • The new company is listed in the Companies table at **Manage > Reseller > Home | Companies. It can also be accessed using the View Company Info link on the user details page of the first user.
      • The new user is the new company’s first user and is assigned the Company Admin and Billing Admin roles.
      • Additional members invited to join this new company are assigned the User role.
      • The lead’s details page and the Leads page update the lead’s status to Converted.
      • If the lead was referred to a reseller company, the Leads page for associated Resellers and Reseller Managers shows the lead’s status as Converted.
    • Manage > Assign—The Assign a Lead dialog appears. Select one of the following options:
      • Assign lead to all the sales support representatives—Transfers the ownership of the lead to all users assigned the Sales Support role in your organization. SSRs can edit assigned leads by adding notes or editing contact information of leads that are in any state other than Converted or Disqualified.
      • Assign lead to a company—Assign Lead To appears. Enter the reseller company name to which you want to transfer the ownership of the lead. All members of the specified reseller company can manage the lead. Resellers can edit assigned leads by adding notes or editing contact information of leads that are in any state other than Converted, Deleted, or Disqualified.
    • Manage > Disqualify—The lead is deactivated. It remains in the Accepted Leads table on the Leads page, but cannot be otherwise managed.
    • Manage > Associate Company—Associates the lead with an existing company account, so that another account is not created for the same company.
    • Manage > Manage Company—The company's details page appears. You can view company details on the page or click Manage Company and perform any of the company management options on the drop-down list. See Manage reseller companies for details.
    • Edit (in the user's details section)—The Edit Lead page appears. Add or edit the user or company details, then click Save. Note that if you edit details for a user or company that is associated with a lead, the association is removed.
    • Edit (in the Notes section)—Add or edit the content in the Note field, then click Save.
    • Add Products (in the Products section)—The Add Products to Lead dialog appears. Click the checkbox next to one or more products that you want to add to the lead, then click Add. The products are associated with the lead.
    • Trash can icon (in the Products section)—A confirmation dialog prompts you to confirm you want to remove this product from the lead. Click Continue. The product is no longer associated with the lead.
