Sell products from the AppDirect Network
If you have access to the AppDirect Network catalog, you can use your Marketplace Manager access to select products from it to sell on your marketplace. You can browse through the catalog, select products to sell, and publish them to your marketplace.
There are two types of Network Catalog products you can sell on your marketplace:
- Core products are automatically available for you to sell right away. These products appear with an Add to Staging button beside them.
- Community products are listed in the Network catalog, but they require that you have a separate arrangement with the product provider. These products appear with a Request to Add button beside them.
You should discuss your arrangement with the provider before adding a Community product to your marketplace, and ensure that the provider notifies AppDirect to grant you access when you request it.
Once you have added a Network catalog product to your Staging catalog, you can make some local changes to it to fine-tune the marketing to appeal to your customers, and to adjust the pricing. For more information, see Customize product content and Customize product pricing.
To sell Core products from the AppDirect network
📝 Note: If the AppDirect logo appears in the upper-left corner of the page, when Manage > Marketplace appears in this topic, click the grid icon > Switch to | Store, instead.
- Click Manage > Marketplace > Products > CATALOG | Staging Catalog. The Staging Catalog opens.
- Click Add Network Product. The Add from the Network Catalog page appears.
- Locate the product you want to add to the Staging Catalog, then click Add to Staging. A confirmation message appears.
- Click Customize & Add Product. The product’s details page opens in Preview Profile mode and editing options in the top pane.
- Click Edit Profile to enter the Edit Mode, then click the area of the profile you want to edit.
- Click the pencil icon. The Marketplace Listing page opens.
- Edit one or more fields, then click Save.
- (Optional) Click one or more of the Profile & Branding or Edition & Pricing options in the left pane and make edits in the appropriate fields on the selected page.
📝 Note: You must click Save before leaving the page or your edits will be lost.
- Click Preview Profile (at the top of all Profile & Branding pages) to display the updated product’s profile.
- (Optional) Make additional edits as required.
- Click Publish (at the top of all Profile & Branding pages) or Continue to Publish from the preview page to republish the updated product profile.
To sell Community products from the AppDirect network
📝 Note: If the AppDirect logo appears in the upper-left corner of the page, when Manage > Marketplace appears in this topic, click the grid icon > Switch to | Store, instead.
- Click Manage > Marketplace > Products > CATALOG | Staging Catalog. The Staging Catalog opens.
- Click Add Network Product. The Add from the Network Catalog page appears.
- Locate the product you want to add to the Staging Catalog, then click Request to Add if the product is configured to require the Developer’s approval. A confirmation message appears.
- Click Save to submit the request. The button beside the product listing changes to Cancel Request, and a small Requested label appears above it.
You can click Cancel Request to cancel the request if you change your mind before the request is approved or denied. Otherwise, once the request is approved, the button changes to Add to Staging and you can add it as you would a Core product, as described above.
