Develop a storefront theme
After you Start the Toolkit, you can work on your theme.
As discussed earlier, the Structure and contents of a theme includes several files. To develop a theme you can use a text editor to create new files and modify existing ones, save your changes, and then evaluate the effects of your work by viewing the storefront in a browser as you work on it.
You can Use page objects to represent variable content, such as the text of a product summary. When working on your theme, you can use these page objects to design your pages.
The Toolkit also offers a Data Viewer function for you to Use AppDirect data in order to populate the page objects, providing a more accurate view of what your pages will look like in production.
The topics in this section explain the various options available in the Storefront Toolkit, and how to use them to build your custom themes.
- Template engine features
- Create the pages
- Create the header and footer
- Create meta tags
- Design properties
- Use the developer toolbar
After you have finished your work, you can use the Toolkit command line to Create a theme package.
