Product selection flows

When a customer selects a product edition, the marketplace guides them to enter any additional information that the edition requires. Some products may take a few extra steps, while other products may take the customer directly to checkout. This depends on the marketplace settings, where in the process the customer has selected the edition, and how the product is set up.

The customer can select a product edition by clicking a button on different marketplace pages:

• Buy—This button appears in the main product profile banner.
• Add to Cart—This button must be enabled on the marketplace, for more information, see Configure checkout settings. When available, it may appear in three places: the main product profile banner, on edition cards in the product's Editions & Pricing tab, and on the product configuration page.
• Select—This button may appear on edition cards in the product's Editions & Pricing tab.
• Buy Now—This button may appear on the product's Editions & Pricing tab.
• Change—This link appears on product cards in the Cart.

The buttons that are available in a product profile depend on that product's setup:

• Whether the product is stackable: that is, whether customers are able to buy different editions or instances of it at the same time, or instead can only buy a single edition.
• Whether there are add-on products available for the product.
• Whether domain cross-selling is enabled for the product. For more information, see Sell domains.

The table below summarizes how the marketplace behaves when a customer clicks a button, depending on the page the customer starts from and the setup of the product they are purchasing.
