Configure physical attributes

Defining physical attributes for your products is key for accurate shipping and handling processes. This section allows you to specify attributes like dimensions and weight, which enable you to calculate shipping costs dynamically through a shipping connector.

To create the base physical attributes:

1. If you are not already on the product dashboard page, click Manage > Billing and Distribution > Products > productName | Edit.
   The Product Dashboard page for the selected product opens.
2. Click Physical Attributes.
   The Physical Attributes page opens.
3. Fill in the details for Length, Height, Width, and Weight. Ensure that you select the appropriate unit of measurement for each of the value.
4. Enter a Supplier ID if your shipping integration supports different providers. This ID can be used to distinguish between different shipping options or providers in your shipping integration setup.
5. Click Save to apply the changes to your product's base physical attributes.

To update physical attributes:

1. If you are not already on the product dashboard page, click Manage > Billing and Distribution > Products > productName | Edit.
   The Product Dashboard page for the selected product opens.
2. Click Physical Attributes.
   The Physical Attributes page opens.
3. Click Edit to update. This could include changes to dimensions, weight, or the Supplier ID.
4. Click Save to save the updates. You will be prompted to confirm if these changes should apply to existing variants. This is an important step as any modifications could impact shipping calculations and options.

📝 Note Updating base physical attributes might affect all variants of the product. If you regenerate variants after making changes, these updates will be applied to all variants created or re-created during the regeneration process.
