Wholesale price management for reseller opportunities

Release state: General Availability (GA)

This release introduces wholesale price editing and vendor cost visibility for reseller-owned opportunity quotes. Marketplace Managers (MM), Reseller Managers (RM), and Sales Support Representatives (SSR) can now view and override wholesale prices on a per-product basis, while MMs and SSRs gain visibility into vendor costs for margin-aware pricing decisions.

The feature supports both Indirect and Direct billing relationships, with role-specific and billing-specific UI adjustments.

Prerequisites

• Set custom prices on opportunities must be enabled.
• Vendor cost feature must be enabled.

⚠️ Known limitation: Vendor cost is not currently visible to the RM role. This is a known gap and will be addressed in a future release.

What's changed?

Wholesale price editing

• MMs, RMs, and SSRs can now set quote-specific wholesale prices per product on reseller-owned opportunities.
• Custom wholesale prices are indicated by a lightning icon (⚡) with an explanatory tooltip.

Vendor cost visibility

• MMs and SSRs can view the vendor cost for each product, enabling margin-transparent pricing decisions.
• A warning message is displayed if a wholesale price is set below the vendor cost, reducing the risk of underpricing.

Reseller view

• Resellers can view MSRP and wholesale prices in read-only mode.
• Editing capabilities are not available to the Reseller role.

Setting enablement

The feature requires the Display Wholesale Prices setting to be enabled, which applies only to quotes owned by an MM. Dependencies include vendor, price book, catalog, and role-based permissions. No data migration is required.
