The wholesale price is set in the Items table on the Manage Quotes page. Resellers view the wholesale price, and any messages you include, in their view of the Manage Quotes page.
- Reject Quote—A confirmation message appearsmessage prompts you to confirm that you want to reject this custom price quote. Click Reject. The customer receives a notification that their custom price request was denied.
Set quote-specific wholesale pricing
On reseller-owned quotes, Marketplace Managers (MMs), Reseller Managers (RMs), and Sales Support Representatives (SSRs) can override the wholesale price on a per-product basis directly in the Items table of the Manage Quote page. A quote-specific wholesale price applies only to the quote in which it is set; it does not affect the product price in other quotes, opportunities, or customers.
The following prerequisites must be met for this functionality to be available:
- The Set custom prices on opportunities setting must be enabled.
- The Vendor cost feature must be enabled.
- For quotes owned by a Marketplace Manager, the Display Wholesale Prices setting must be enabled.
When a custom wholesale price is applied to a product, a lightning icon (⚡) appears next to the wholesale price value in the Items table. Hover over the icon to view a tooltip explaining that a custom wholesale price has been set. If the wholesale price is set below the vendor cost (visible to MMs and SSRs), a warning message is displayed to reduce the risk of underpricing.
Visibility by role
The following table summarizes who can edit quote-specific wholesale prices and who can view related pricing details on reseller-owned quotes:
| Role | Edit wholesale price | View vendor cost | View MSRP | View wholesale price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Marketplace Manager (MM) | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Sales Support Rep (SSR) | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Reseller Manager (RM) | Yes | No | Yes | Yes |
| Reseller | No | No | Yes | Yes (read-only) |
ℹ️ Note: Vendor cost is not currently visible to Reseller Managers. This is a known gap that is planned for a future release.
UI differences by billing relationship
The Items table on the Manage Quote page adjusts based on the billing relationship of the reseller-owned quote:
| UI element | Direct billing | Indirect billing |
|---|---|---|
| Unit Selling Price | Visible | Hidden |
| Subtotal label | Subtotal | Total Wholesale Price |
| Wholesale Price | Editable by MM, RM, and SSR | Editable by MM, RM, and SSR |
| MSRP | Not shown as a dedicated column | Visible |
Resellers see the same columns in read-only mode and can view MSRP and wholesale prices but cannot edit them.
