Create referral leads
Referral users can create and submit leads that they feel are likely to generate sales for the Reseller they are ultimately assigned to.
To create a lead,
- Log in to your AppReseller account. Your AppReseller home page appears.
- Click Manage then select Reseller. The Leads page appears. It contains a table that displays details about existing leads.
- Click Add a Lead. The Create a New Lead dialog appears.
- Enter the potential customer’s company information in the appropriate Company Details fields.
- Enter the potential customer’s user information in the appropriate User Details fields. This company and user contact information is used to create a customer company and it's first user when this lead is converted into a customer as described in Convert leads to customers.
- (Optional) Select one or more products or services associated with this lead from the Product Selection section. You can filter the products by selecting a product category in the left pane, or enter a product or company name in the search field.
- Click Save. The following events occur:
- A message confirms the lead was created.
- The lead’s details page appears and displays the contact information for the potential customer associated with the lead.
- The lead is assigned the Pending Submission state. Leads in this state can be deleted as described in Delete a lead.
- The details page includes a link to return to the Leads page, which now includes this lead.
- (Optional) Click Edit in the Notes section, then enter a comment that other users can view when managing the lead. Click Save.
- Click Manage then select Submit to Partner Manager. You are prompted to confirm the submission.
- Click Submit. The following events occur:
- A message confirms the lead was successfully submitted to the Partner Manager.
- The status of the lead is updated to Submitted.
- The Partner Manager's view of the Leads page includes the new lead. He or she is responsible for assigning or disqualifying the lead.
