Billing relationship support in price books

Billing Relationship is a new capability that supports both direct and indirect billing within the same marketplace. To enable default pricing based on how a partner is billed, price books now use Billing Relationship as the highest-priority attribute during resolution. Partners can maintain a default price book for each relationship type while retaining the flexibility to define different prices for different scenarios.

Key highlights

• You can configure default prices on the basis of Billing Relationship (direct or indirect).
• Price books resolve dynamically based on the Billing Relationship selected in marketplace settings.
• Resellers can receive different rates depending on whether they are purchasing for their own consumption or for resale purposes.
• Partners retain the flexibility to set different prices for different scenarios on top of relationship-based defaults.

UI updates

A new Billing Relationship dropdown is available for selecting the applicable relationship type.

📝 Note:

• Billing Relationship takes the highest priority during price book resolution.
• Because this feature is in EA, it is not yet enabled for external customers. Enabling the flag at this stage can result in a blank dropdown.

This feature is not enabled by default. Contact your AppDirect technical representative to request it.

Setting enablement

Price Book must be enabled.
